I’m not a big fan of clubs. I don’t object to the idea itself. Its the people. Everyone else seems to want to be part of a group. I go out of my way not to be. But there is one type of club I’ve always found intriguing. Book clubs at least make sense. I’m ready to read a book or talk about books at a moments notice. Yet somehow, I’ve never been a part of a book club.

I was having a discussion with my friend the other day. We were talking about books, about writing. The usual topics that I tend to float with anyone who’s expressed similar interests. I mentioned starting a book club with some friends. I said if people were really lazy we didn’t even have to be in the same room. We could do the whole thing over Skye. He had a better idea.

He has a twitch channel and streams every weekend. If we’re doing it digitally, why not stream it all. And if we’re streaming it, why not record it? Turn it into a podcast? Its one of those ideas so obvious you feel like its been sitting there staring you in the face and you never noticed. At least, I never noticed.

So watch this space a little later in the new year. Sooner rather than later, you’ll get to hear my ill-informed opinions on all sorts of books.
